  2. PROFILE & HISTORY: Bitter about being resurrected from the dead, Hoist has changed since the last war, becoming a bot of darker desires and aggression, The gentleman Autobot has become the tired war-scorn figure-head of the Renegades. Still very loyal to the Renegade cause, he continues to be respected by Autobots and despised Decepticons for his resilience and resourcefulness. Only the spirits of his surviving comrade Latryx7 keeps him in check, never forgetting those they lost along the way. Hoist has leadership qualities but would rather not be in command, however others let him take the lead. He has a uncanny ability to attain respect and will still put himself in the line of fire first before a fellow Renegade. Deep down under his rough exterior, somewhere is the good-natured Hoist but all a to forgotten memory now, and shadow of himself as he continues to struggle with the merits of this eternal war.

Before his Renegade days, Hoist had served on Cybertron during the early wars but after many thousands of vorns, the home planet was dry of Energon, a resource needed to keep transformers working and keep the planet revitalised after the war. After a long time, the Autobots decided to leave the planet to find more sources that could be turned into Energon, so he, (along with 5 other Autobots) allowed Optimus Prime to encode his mind into a crystal before leaving Cybertron. These Autobots were selected for preservation in case Optimus Prime needed reinforcements on his mission. When the Ark crashed into Earth four million years ago because of a Decepticon boarding party following two colliding asteroids, the crystals remained intact Hoist and the other four Autobots, were awakened after the Autobots suffered heavy casualties in battle with the Decepticons while recovering the lost head of Optimus Prime. Wheeljack constructed new bodies for the five warriors and on the command of Optimus Prime transferred their minds into their new forms to help replenish the Autobot ranks. It was from this time that his new alt mode took a more earthen form of a tow-truck).

Hoist eventually left the Earth when the Ark was repaired, but in stasis, one of the many Autobot casualties caught in the wrath of Underbase Starscream. Before Ratchet was captured by Megatron and Transported to Cybertron with he deactivated bodies of Starscream, Grimlock, Jazz and Bumblebee (later to be made into Pretenders, Ratchet made many repairs on the damaged Autobots including Hoist, but suffered when trying to deal with the stress of all the work. Meanwhile Grimlock swore to one day find a way to revive his Dinobots and went to Hydrus Four after stealing an Autobot shuttle. Scientists there had developed a new fuel called nucleon. It was more powerful than Energon and capable of bringing dead Transformers back to life, but it was unstable and could have unforeseen consequences. Grimlock was unwilling to subject his Dinobots to anything he would not go through himself, and thus decided to test the fuel on himself first. When no ill effects were apparent, he used it to revive the Dinobots, and brought enough back to revive the remaining fallen Autobots, including Hoist.

At this point, Cybertron was believed to be dying as a result of the battle with Unicron, and the Autobots and Decepticons were co-operating to evacuate. Hoist wasn't happy with this but had always preferred a return to the more peaceful days, before the Great War. It was a trap howwever set by Bludgeon, and only the Dinobots saw through it. Grimlock revealed that he had captured Decepticon ships hidden them away. Thanks to those ships, Hoist and other the Autobots were able to flee Cybertron and follow the Decepticons to the planet Klo for a final showdown. Due to weak leadership from Grimlock, however, the Autobots took heavy casualties and their forces were nearly wiped out. Hoists wounds were bad and extensive, though not life threatening. Finally, a newly resurrected Optimus Prime and the Last Autobot arrived on Klo, and while Optimus Prime fought against Bludgeon, the Last Autobot resurrected the dead and injured Autobots, healing Hoist's injuries. When Optimus Prime returned, recreated by the Last Autobot, Grimlock participated in the rout of the Decepticons before returning to Earth.

When Optimus Prime returned to Cybertron Hoist had already been on the "home planet" for a while, like the others he had no idea That Optimus Prime was a clone, built by Megatron to infiltrate the Autobot command structure. Hoist and Latryx worked together, stationed on the planet's main Autobot HQ, one of their many hidden bases, instead of on one of the moon bases. There they worked daily, fixing the wounds of severely injured Autobots from the front line and became close friends.

Hoist was one of many Autobots who were increasingly unhappy with Prime's "Out of character" orders like the Dinobots having to report to Moon Base One. Before this, Optimus Prime had just returned from searching for raw materials in deep space. He had returned, empty handed, his team killed in a Decepticon attack with him as the lone survivor. During surprise attacks, small groups of Decepticons already seemed to be present like they knew the Autobots were coming. In the next meeting Latyrx7 brought this up with Optimus himself stating that there might be a leaking of information in the Autobot ranks. Optimus however would not hear of it and ordered a final strike against the Decepticons, they were that close to winning the war. As Latryx7 was making wild claims he was given command to lead the task force in the final all out attack. Latryx met up with Hoist and shared his concerns about the Autobot commander but Hoist couldn't believe his audio sensors, he knew Latryx didn't know very well being a later generation Autobot, but when his friend told him that Optimus seemed to have no concern for the welfare of his Autobots on this mission, then Hoist knew something was wrong, and this was not like Optimus at all.

Leading the task force, Latryx7 had managed to talk Hoist into the mission, he needed someone he could rely on. Along with Hoist's old friend Trailbreaker, the two groups were ambushed by Decepticons, lead by the traitorous one himself, Starscream. They almost certainly guessed it might have been a trap and weren't wrong and fought toe to toe with the Decepticons and Decepticon seekers. During the battle an unknown mech appeared on the scene from nowhere and laid waste to a number of Decepticons, but although he saved both groups, it was too late. The Autobots had already taken heavy causalities. The mech called himself HeavyAssault, an ex-vehicon betrayed by Megatron himself, but who pushed his weight around - telling the Autobots they should be thankful he turned up.

Back at the base a very irate Latryx7 demanded to see Optimus Prime. The commotion was only stopped by HeavyAssault, who had come to share his news of resignation from the Decepticons, and offering to join the Autobots, but not whilst Prime was making irrational command decisions. HeavyAssault backed Latryx's claim of a leak but Prime blew of these notions refusing to believe it. From that day Hoist stood by Latryx's side trying to uncover the plot of why Optimus was acting out of sorts, and along with some other followers, refused take orders from the Autobot leader. The Renegade Autobots took The fight against the Decepticons in their own hands, unbound by Autobot ruling. Some well respected Autobots, some veterans, voiced their opinions more vocally than others. Pretty soon things began to get out of hand, endless council meeting against the Renegade Autobots ensued. Optimus Prime himself then ordered for them to be rounded up, stripped of their ranks and brought up on charges and imprisonment. With the joining of the "framed" Latryx7 and Trailbreaker, Hoist also became incriminated by being part of the Renegades. Under the orders Optimus prime, they were sought out for crimes they didn't commit, charges of Treason and mutiny. Hoist continued to serve with the Renegades fighting for what they believe is right with his buddies L7, HA and Trailbreaker.

Three hundred years passed, and the ancestors of the original Autobots and Decepticons, namely the Maximals and Predacons respectively, had managed to live in semi-peace for three hundred years after the great war. A new faction, the Destructicons came to take over Cybertron away from the Maximals, and to establish a strangle hold over Cybertron with they're leader, the mysterious Lord Armada. He used the Decepticon matrix to create a attack team, the Assaulticons, to round up the remaining Maximals and Autobots and destroy them. During the invasion, the old Autobot leader, Optimus Prime died as he passed the Autobot Matrix of Leadership on to Optimus Maximus. From there the Renegades escaped in to Cybertron's underground tunnels, while the Destructicons began to build weapons and vehicles of destruction to further conquer the planet. As they set out to find survivors, they came across the underground tunnels where the Renegades were. The remaining Maximals didn't have the power to defeat the Destructicons, so they're leader, Optimus Maximus, uses the Autobot matrix to rebuild the remaining Maximals and Autobots into Renegades, more powerful versions of themselves. Powerful enough to defeat the Destruticon soldiers, but not the Assaulticons, the Assaultcons however, aren't powerful enough to destroy the Renegades, thus a war has developed and the winner gets control of Cybertron. Hoist however, was not one of the Autobots that was recreated by Optimus Maximus due to being revived by the Nucleon that had brought him back to life following his critical injuries to Underbase Starscream.

In these tunnels Maximus, Hoist and the others found what was to become the new base - The Renegade Fortress which was littered with dozens of dead Autobots and Maximals. The Destructicons found them however and launched a full attack, during this three of the Renegades, Morpher and Shadowstalker went off to find more Minicons in Iacon only to be followed by a group of Destructicons. Meanwhile Aboard there space craft the Nemisis, Armada used stolen plans from a maximal base to create a new race of Transformers, the Minicons. These slave race bots boosted special powers for the transformer they were linked to. Armada's new recruits had went about on Cybertron with new plans of there own on how to defeat the Renegades. Lust, Rainstrom and Scarrunner all set out on there own tasks, Rainstorm began to create a new virus that would destroy and break down a robot in a painful matter while Scarrunner reactivated the old Guardian robots of old: The Omega Sentinals.

When the new Renegades went into Icon to fight of Lord Armada's Lion drones, Unfortunately during this, the Destructicons captured the Minicons and took them to the Nemisis. After gaining insight of the Destructions ship the Nemesis by Sharpshot, who was captured but freed by fellow Renegade Shadowstalker, Hoist helped the Renegades attack the ship to free the captured Minicons. After the invasion wars, Hoist attended a celebration at Jekka Amphitheater with the other Renegades, to honour them for fighting of the Destructicons once and for all. But after those few months trouble suddenly loomed when the Destructicons returned. After the dust settled the Renegades, along with the other factions were called by a mysterious force offering utopia to all. They were all led to a planet where they discovered a crystal with great transformer religious qualities, during worship the Autobots & Renegades were interrupted by the timely arrival of the Decepticon forces, it had been a grave trap. From within the crystal a great force gave them back their leaders Armada & Max Convoy resurrected by the formatting by the two Matrixes, and separated from the bots and Gades and allowed them to return home.

The Autobots sought alliance with the Renegades so Hoist and three others went to Iacon on a diplomatic mission to build fences between the factions but were warned off by a mysterious sniper who tried to tell them to go home. The following day the Renegade party were invited to Mirage's Castle for Vector Primus's speech, unknowingly Death's Head had returned to eliminate Vector Primus. Although he failed, chaos broke out at the castle as all three factions fought and also tried to stop DH. Hoist especially went head to head with the bounty hunter managing to get the upper hand temporarily when the Minicons had come to the rescue on a huge drill. Despite getting the better of the bounty hunter, the vice units swarmed in, mostly on Hoist, and after the Renegades made their exit, the castle was wrecked and burnt to the ground. When the party returned home to base, they had found it had been in a heavy siege by the Destructicons, but had been defended, just barely. With not much time to rest, Hoist was back out in new Iacon fighting the new super-powered Destructicons (recharged, repaired and increased in power tenfold by rainstorm , who was apparently Viacron all this time). The super-Destructicons tore shreds off the city, causing heavy damage. During the struggle Hoist was badly beaten and intervened to stop snap taking on Armageddon, but was crushed by the Destructicon twins who combined to form Speedster. Hoist managed to get free thanks to Snap and Sniper but had no choice but to fall back to the Renegade ship, The Rebel Storm. Their plans were foiled however, as Scarrunner had other plans about bringing the ship down aboard the Destructicon vessel. The ship sustained Critical damage and Hoist orded an evac, but decided to stay himself to try and bring down the ship safely. Once the ship was vacant bar Hoist, the maintenance bot tried to land the ship but Scarrunner struck again and the ship lost control and plummeted to the ground of New Iacon. Hoist sustained critical damage but knew if he evacuated he'd be risking the life of even more civilians in Iacon. As his life flashed before him, Hoist stayed with the ship to try and bring it down safely, but couldn't pull up in time as the vessel crashed into the ground and crashed into the Autobot senate building with the Renegade inside, both ship and Hoist were destroyed and the rest of the ship exploded leaving nothing but a shell and the scattered remains of the Renegade Hoist.

When the Renegades investigated the crash site, unknown to the others, Indelible extracted the spark out of the hunk of scrap that used to be Hoist's torso and took it back to the Renegade Lair. Until the zombie infestation, Indelible spent long hours tucked away in med bay, running over schematics for the new body being created for Hoist. Machines kept the Renegade's spark alive but with the zombie bots taking over the base they had no choice but to set the old base on self Destruct. Indelible, along with Latryx7 grabbed Indelible's project. After many battles the Renegades were captured but when there stasis pods were ejected over Cybertron, some where still MIA, the others had been found, enslaved and powered down, clamped with an restraining bolt. When they awoke they found they were trying to be sold on the black market by Swindle, but Indelible's blueprints and bits of body chassis for Hoist were all gone. Unknown to them, many wounded Renegades were repaired by Thunderwing and Zion, when Hoist showed up again it was clear they must've finished the work Indelible started.

Hoist only had once concern, to find the missing L7 and Max Convoy. He resented being back online, finally finding peace, so know with a much more changed and serious/determined attitude decided to make this life count for something whilst he had it.

Weapons/Tools/Equipment/Special Abilities/Powers:

Medium blaster, Multi-spectrum sensor. welding unit

Abilities: Hoist can haul up to 400,000 pounds. In robot mode, he was one of the strongest of the Autobots. His wrist sockets are intr-changebale, from fists to a welding unit, Hoist also has a rapid-firing medium blaster attachment, which, like the welding unit he can use in either arm. With his welding unit he can help with repairs. The full spectrum multi-sensor module he wears behind his head can determine an object's composition, density, tensile strength, energy properties and often even its function with a mere sweep of its triple beams. The beams have an operating range of 1200 yards, making Hoist an effective and valued scout at times. His alt mode is a Cybertronian carrier, a tough armoured carrier than can go across multiple terrains of Cybertron, however it has limited maneuverability. When fired upon, because of the mode's slowness and bulk, it's just quicker for Hoist to transform and engage in battle rather than try and out run or out-dodge an assault. In this mode, Hoist can carry half-a-dozen small Transformers.

Weaknesses: Has a high fuel consumption and will risk too much at times feeling that he has nothing to lose any more.
